Valldemossa and Deià in Mallorca: (4 hr)

Valldemossa dates back to the 14th century. The village is located at the foot of the Tramuntana mountains. Actor Michael Douglas has a home here. See La Cartuja, a former royal residence turned monastery in the Middle Ages. In 1838, authoress George Sand and composer Frédéric Chopin came to live there. Sand wrote a book titled A Winter in Majorca and Chopin composed “Raindrop Prelude” and other works. Visit charming Deià ten minutes away, where the poet Robert Graves lived. Andrew Lloyd Webber and other celebrities live in the village.


Palma de Mallorca and a Delicious Treat: (4 hr.)

Explore the capital of the Balearic Islands, including the Bellver Castle from 1301, the cathedral La Seu, which was started in 1230, and the lovely Gothic Quarter. Later the driver may take you to a lovely 17th century castle in a nearby village or a glorious seaside mansion for a scrumptious treat. The drive back to the ship passes La Rambla, Paseo Mallorca, and the Maritime Promenade.


Traditional Mallorca: (6h)

Visit a lovely 17 century mansion where time stands still. See how people used to live their daily lives on Mallorca and sample the delicacies. Local dances and performances with horses may be seen along with lovely salons, potteries, carpenters’ workshops, gardens, livestock and even torture chambers... The car drives on to the lovely orange valley of Sóller and Puerto de Sóller where some artwork by Miró can be studied along with a lovely train and station from 1912.


The French Riviera East: (4–8 h)

Visit the pearls of the Riviera. Explore the Royal kingdom of Monaco and see the luxuries and entertainment there. Explore the Menton area and stop at all the loveliest sites where artists and musicians have found it so easy to create. Enjoy a delicious lunch in one of the top restaurants and sample the local delicacies in the markets and shops of the charming villages. In Èze village you will fall in love with the beauty and the atmosphere. If you enjoy a long excursion the Old Town of Nice and La Promenade des Anglais will enchant you.


The French Riviera Center: (4–8 hours).

The variety of the French Riviera is like a goldmine. At every turn there are new things to explore. The Medieval villages of St Paul and Vence will enchant you. Fabulous restaurants insure a superb lunch too. Drive on to the perfume town of Grasse. Would you like to create your own fragrance? Visit the Roman town of Antibes and see the Picasso museum and the funloving Juan-les-Pins. See Cannes and its old town le Suquet and the glorious restaurant village Mougins where the starstudded chefs await you with one of the best meals you ever had.


French Riviera (West) and Provence (8–12h)

Discover the lovely seaside and the mountains of the Esterel with the enchanting village Théoule. Drive onto the Roman city of Fréjus, discover the hot night spot St Tropez and see the lovely white horses and the flamingos in the Camargue area. Impressive Roman remains will greet you in Arles, the town where van Gogh lived. One of the loveliest old fishing villages on the coast is in Cassis. Glorious vistas and gourmet food await you in Aix en Provence and the villages higher up in the mountains. If you have a full day ahead of you a trip to the mountains in Les Alpilles and the Green Provence, where the fountains and pastures are plentiful, is an enchanting experience.


In a hurry or fond of the bird’s eye perspective?
Order a helicopter or balloon sightseeing ride over places like Valldemossa, Mallorca, or Monte Carlo where the stars live. Helicopter prices start at 100 euros PP, ballooning at 150 pp.
